The terrifying “Five Nights at Freddy’s” version is based on the FNaF horror video game series. Here’s a preview of the official Universal synopsis:

The protagonist of the tale is Mike, a disturbed young man who is in charge of his sister Abby, age 10, and who is plagued by the unresolved disappearance of his younger brother more than ten years before.

Mike, who was recently dismissed, grudgingly accepts the position of night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, an abandoned themed restaurant, in an effort to find employment so he can continue to be Abby’s caregiver. Mike is unaware, though, that Freddy’s is not your typical establishment. Mike will have mysterious paranormal experiences throughout his nights at Freddy’s with the assistance of Vanessa, a local police officer.
dragging him down into the murkiest recesses of a nightmare beyond comprehension.
